God wants to love His children through you…

For the past few years I have asked myself the question many times over: “why do I do what I do?” Why not go back to living a normal life … going to work every day … building homes ... building my business. Why not be normal? What’s normal anyway?

It seems that the answer I keep hearing is: “God wants to love His children through you.” I have come to believe that God really could feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to care for the orphans and widows all by Himself, but He chose to carry out that task through people like you and I. Those of us with children know the joy it gives us to make our children happy. We feel pain when our children are suffering. As parents, we all sleep better when we know our children are safely tucked into a warm bed. We love our children and want what’s best for them. God wants the same for His children.

It’s an exciting time for our family…our daughter will be getting married this fall. My wife, Elizabeth and I wish all the best for Krystal and Eric and pray God’s richest blessings on their lives together.

In May my Uncle Hardi moved to Medgidia to work for Hands For Humanity. He has been busy running the feed mill, managing the crops, coaching our chicken growers, preaching in the local churches, teaching at pastor’s conferences, unloading containers and distributing relief donations to local churches, setting up feed distributors, and etc.  He is a real blessing to the Romanians and great blessing to me by taking a big part of the load I was carrying.

Thanks Uncle Hardi, for your willingness to serve, your love for people, your concern for their spiritual wellbeing, and as well for their physical welfare.

“we still need sponsors for 10 homes @ $10,000 each…please pray for provision for the Mangalia Social Housing Project.”

Community development is a primary focus of Hands For Humanity. HFH is partnering with the City of Mangalia in an exciting project to integrate Gypsies into the Romanian society. The first phase of the project includes 18 small homes. The second phase planned for next spring will include a kindergarten/ alphabetization school building. The building will also serve as a church/community for the Romi living in that community.

Please pray for provision for this project. This project will require funds to purchase building materials, donations of building materials, and team of volunteers to complete the construction this fall.

“we are looking for church group to sponsor the Tuzla project and commit to raising $25,000.”

Tuzla is located 25km.south of Constanta, Romania. The Second Baptist Church from Constanta has been planting a church in this village over the past five years. HFH has acquired a parcel of land in Tuzla to develop a community centre building which would serve as a daycare centre, alphabetization school, and a place for the church to meet.

We are looking for a church in North America to take on this project by committing to raise the $25,000USD still needed to complete the project. To date the local church has raised $7,500 towards the construction costs and HFH has received $3,000 worth of building materials which have been donated towards this project.

Martin and his wife, Clazina were in Romania last September to see first-hand what God is doing in Constanta County through HFH.  Martin is a framing contractor and house designer, just the kind of person we have been praying God would send to Romania to help coordinate the many building projects we have on the go in that country. The Sommer family with their five children plan to move to Romania this fall. Please pray for all the details to be worked out and that funds would be provided to make the move possible and for living expenses while the Sommer family is in Romania for the next year.

The big day has finally arrived! After four years of hard work and believing God for a miracle, Betleem Church in Medgidia is finally completed and plan to celebrate with a dedication service on Sept. 26, 2004. Thanks to all who donated to this project. Pastor Vasi and his team are making a tremendous difference in Medgidia and surrounding communities.

Marcel Iordaci is a local church planter from the Basarabi Church and has made it his mission to plant a church in the town of 15,000 people just west of Constanta.

In June the church was finished on the inside and a special outreach event was held with great success. The exterior of the church still needs stucco and will be completed this fall.

Thanks to our faithful donors this project is nearing completion as well after 6 years of construction (or should I say waiting for funds). Interior work is progressing and a team from a church in Suceava will come in Sept to do the exterior stucco.

Our Hutterite friends from Manitoba have been big contributors towards this project.

Project Romania Rescue rescues kids from the streets of Constanta. Hands for Humanity is honoured to be able to help PRR carry out their mission. Please consider making a donation towards the $10,000 still needed to complete this building and get it filled with kids.

Hands For Humanity supports Betty Meduta and her ministry team by providing space in our community centre for programs that reach many poor children in the city of Medgidia. Please pray for Betty…she’s making a BIG difference in many little lives! Please help us fund the operating costs of the community centre so that Betty and other missionaries and church groups can continue to have free access to a building which allows them to carry out their mission of “letting God love His children through them”.

Your gifts towards child sponsorship help us complete projects that will make a difference that will last through eternity. Because you give, HFH is able to ship a container every month filled with clothes, food, medical equipment and construction materials.

Annie Glenn from Washington DC returned home in May after serving the kids in Medgidia for 6 months. Thanks Annie for investing yourself into the lives of those sweet kids.  Thanks for letting God love them through you!
