God’s
Supply Is At The Place Of His Assignment
At our December
Board meeting, we were sharing a principle from the Scriptures that
affects, not only every Christian organization seeking to advance the
Kingdom of God, but also our lives as individual believers.
The principle can be stated this way—God’s supply is at the place of His
assignment for us. There are a number of scriptures that illustrate this
divine principle. Let us just consider one.
We find the incident in 1 Kings 17. “Then Elijah, the prophet from
Tishbe in Gilead, told King Ahab, ‘As surely as the Lord God of Israel
lives—the God whom I worship and serve—there won’t be any dew or rain
for several years until I say the word.’ Then the Lord said to Elijah,
‘Go to the east and hide by Cherith Brook [the place of assignment]…
Drink from the brook and eat what the ravens bring you, For I have
commanded them to feed you.’ [the promise of supply] …The ravens brought
him bread and meat each morning and evening [ the fulfillment of the
promise] …But after a while the brook dried up…Then the Lord said to
him, ‘ Go and live in the village of Zarephath [the place of
assignment]…There is a widow there who will feed you. I have given her
my instructions…[the promise of supply]…For no matter how much they
used, there was always plenty left in the containers, just as the Lord
had promised …[ the fulfillment of the promise] (vss. 1-16, THE LIVING
BIBLE. Emphasis added.).
God’s supply is at the place of His assignment for us. Wherever the
pillar of cloud leads the manna will fall. “And it is he who will supply
all your needs from his riches in glory, because of what Christ Jesus
has done for us” (Philippians 4:19, THE LIVING BIBLE).
