Our
statement
of faith
We believe that the Bible--both the Old and New
Testaments--is the Word of God, that it is "God-breathed".
We
believe in the Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We
believe that mankind was created by a direct act of God.
We
believe in the virgin birth and incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ;
His identification as the Son of God; in His crucifixion and the
shedding of His blood as the vicarious atonement for our sins; that on
the third day after His crucifixion He rose from the dead; His purpose
in coming was to deliver His people from their sins; that the new birth
is through the regeneration of the Holy Spirit; the gift of eternal life
is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ;
We
believe that the commission of the Church is to go and disciple all
nations.
Our
philosophy
The philosophy of Hands For Humanity is a Biblical perspective based upon the "Great Commission" which is to:
"…go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." Mark 16:15
And
"Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20.
It is the final command of Jesus for all Christians is to go throughout the world, to every nation and every tribe and share the wonderful news of our redemption through Christ to God. (Romans 5:8)
The other dimension of missions is the "Great Commandment:"
Jesus replied: " Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: `Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." MT 22:37-40.
These mandates must be the priority of every church, denomination and fellowship. Hands For Humanity
offers an administrative network in which this can be fulfilled. It's function is to facilitate personal involvement in the development and support of leadership in under-developed countries; "being God's hands to the world."
Another important principle to Hands For Humanity is the focal point of the local church. God's methodology for outreach has always been and always will be the local church. Therefore, the purpose of Hands For Humanity
shall always be to work with local Christian leaders home and abroad.
The purpose of Hands For Humanity is to be a friend, a helper and a partner of indigenous Christian leaders, and a facilitator of outreaches of compassion. |
